Summer (Tiange) Lu

Ph.D. Student

Summer (she/her) is a PhD student in Psychological Sciences at Rice University, specializing in Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience. She earned her B.S. in Neurobiology from the University of California, Irvine in 2024. She is interested in the neural mechanisms of memory transformation, specifically how factors like sleep, emotion, and prior knowledge influence consolidation and updating. By studying how memories are modulated over time, she hopes to contribute to our understanding of adaptive memory and its implications for trauma-related disorders like PTSD. Outside the lab, she enjoys writing fiction, hiking, and singing karaoke.
